NASA astronaut Jonny Kim, a Los Angeles native, returned to Earth after 245 days onboard the International Space Station.

Kim and cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov and Alexey Zubritsky made a safe return Monday night after the successful landing of their Soyuz descent module on the snowy steppe of Kazakhstan.

Kim, Ryzhikov, and Zubritsky completed 3,920 orbits around Earth and traveled nearly 104 million miles, according to NASA.

The undocking of the Soyuz MS-27 spacecraft from the ISS marked the end of ISS Expedition 73 and the beginning of Expedition 74 for the seven astronauts and cosmonauts remaining aboard the station.
