SPOKANE, Wash. — A battle of wits in championship proportion comes to the Spokane Convention Center December 11-14.

The country's top chess playing students, from kindergarten to 12th grade will compete for national titles during the United State Chess Federation K-12 Championship.

Events begin each morning and run into the night.

The champions will be crowned Sunday evening.

Visit Spokane estimates the competition, and 1,200 visitors will bring in more than two million dollars to Spokane's economy.
