MUSKEGON, MI – A teen boy charged with murder knew a 73-year-old man he allegedly shot and killed, Muskegon police said.
Kemaree Davis , 16, was arraigned on an open murder charge Tuesday, Dec. 9, in connection to the shooting death of Tomas Lee Stewart Sr .
A judge denied bond for Davis, who is charged as an adult, and he will remain in custody until his next court appearance in January, court records show.
Davis was arrested on Monday – one week after the killing – after allegedly leading police on a brief foot chase. Muskegon Police Chief Tim Kozal briefed media outlets Tuesday with some new details about the case.
Stewart was found Dec. 1 suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body after a shooting in his home on Jiroch Street. Stewart was pronounced dead at the scene.
