LANSING, Mich. — On Tuesday, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced that a federal judge in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts sided with her and a coalition of attorneys general in a lawsuit against a Trump Administration order from early this year.
In one of his first acts after taking office on Jan. 20, 2025, President Donald Trump issued a Presidential Memorandum that, among other things, indefinitely froze all federal approvals needed for the development of both offshore and onshore wind energy projects, pending federal review.
In response to Trump's directive, federal agencies stopped all permitting and approval activities for the development of wind energy projects.
