The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Tuesday (December 9) directed IndiGo to reduce the winter schedule by 5% across sectors, especially on high-demand, high-frequency flights, and to avoid single-flight operations on a sector by the airline.

The aviation watchdog has asked the domestic carrier to submit a revised winter schedule by 5 PM on December 10.

The DGCA said IndiGo has not shown the ability to operate this expanded winter schedule efficiently. IndiGo got approved 64,346 flights for November but operated only 59,438 flights with 951 cancellations for the month.
