Hundreds of Mary land transit commuters experienced a miserable ride into Washington, D.C., on Monday morning when rush-hour train MARC Penn Line #419 was abruptly canceled due to “lack of equipment.” Already annoyed, we commuters huddled in the chilly morning air on the Odenton train platform, awaiting the next train about a half hour later. To our shock and dismay, the next train showed up in a configuration that most of us rarely see: single-level cars already packed to the gills.
