Philanthropist MacKenzie Scott has gifted Cal State University, Northridge (CSUN) with a $63 million donation, the school announced Tuesday.

This was Scott’s second donation to CSUN after her initial gift of $40 million in 2021.

With her overall donation amount exceeding $103 million, Scott’s investment into CSUN has become one of the largest gifts to any university. It also is the largest donation CSUN has received in its 67-year history.

“We are deeply honored by MacKenzie Scott’s continued and increased confidence in our work,” said CSUN President Erika D. Beck. “This extraordinary support enables us to strengthen the systems and resources that help our students thrive."
