Lesley Walker , the BAFTA-winning British film editor who worked on films including “ Mona Lisa ” and “ Mamma Mia! ,” died on Dec. 2. She was 80.
Walker began her career as an assistant film editor in the 1960s. She worked on films such as “Funeral in Berlin” and “The Lion in Winter,” with her first editor credit being on the 1977 film “A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.”
She rose to prominence in the 1980s for her editing style following her work on “A Letter to Brezhnev,” “Mona Lisa,” “Cry Freedom” and “Shirley Valentine.” Throughout her career, Walker frequently collaborated with directors Richard Attenborough and Terry Gilliam.
Walker’s collaborations with Attenborough included acclaimed films like “Shadowlands,” “In Love and War,” “Grey Owl” and “Closing the Ring.” With
