LOS ANGELES — The FBI released a new photograph Monday of Ryan Wedding, the former Canadian Olympic snowboarder who authorities say now runs a violent international cocaine trafficking operation.

The image, believed to have been taken in Mexico over the summer, shows Wedding lying shirtless in bed with a prominent lion tattoo visible on his chest, according to the FBI's Los Angeles field office. The agency did not disclose how it obtained the photograph or who took it.

Wedding, 44, has been on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list since March and is believed to be hiding in Mexico under the protection of the Sinaloa Cartel. The State Department is offering a reward of up to $15 million for information leading to his arrest or conviction, up from an initial $10 million reward.
