LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The mother of Cairo Jordan, Dejaune Anderson, will now be tried in Louisville, years after her son's death.

The young boy's body was found stuffed inside a suitcase that had been dumped in a wooded area of rural southern Indiana in April of 2022.

Anderson, was arrested last March ending a years-long nationwide manhunt . She was initially charged with murder, neglect of a dependent resulting in death, and obstruction of justice.

New court records Tuesday show the Washington County Prosecutor's Office was granted a motion to dismiss Anderson's criminal case in Indiana.

Prosecutor Tara Coats Hunt said, on Monday, a Jefferson County Grand Jury indicted Anderson on murder, first-degree manslaughter, first-degree criminal abuse, and abuse of a corpse.
