WILLIAMSBURG — A Pearl Harbor commemoration ceremony was held Saturday morning in front of the steps of the Whitley County Courthouse, where community members, local veterans, and representatives from the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) gathered to honor the lives lost in the December 7, 1941 attack.
ROTC students from Whitley County High School opened the program by leading attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance. DAR and SAR members followed with readings of the SAR Pledge and the DAR Preamble, setting the tone for a ceremony centered on remembrance and patriotism.
