WYTHE COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Virginia continues to be a powerhouse in the data center industry, and another could be on the way.

Wythe County, in partnership with Solis Arx , a developer of digital infrastructure, is planning to build an AI computing campus in the area.

Wythe County officials said the project “represents a major capital investment,” but it didn’t take long for residents to share their concerns about this kind of development.

Planned to span 99 acres in Wythe County’s Progress Park , Solis Arx said it will be an “AI factory” aimed to help boost technological enhacement in the area and create some more jobs.
