An Ontario woman who allegedly failed to stop at a U.S.-Manitoba border crossing continued driving dangerously down the highway until she was finally stopped about 200 kilometres south of the border, according to police.
The incident happened on Saturday at the Pembina, N.D., border crossing just south of Emerson, Man., North Dakota Highway Patrol said in a Sunday social media post.
The woman failed to stop at the crossing, which is about 100 kilometres south of Winnipeg, and continued driving south down the I-29 highway, according to police.
Highway patrol officers were called to help and tried to stop the vehicle using a tire deflation device near Grand Forks, N.D., about 120 kilometres south of the border.
The device damaged the tires but the driver continued on, at one point cross
