ROCKFORD, Ill. (WREX) — The Rockford Public School District is getting close to making a big decision as they are now just days from deciding their next superintendent.
The district is down to just three candidates and are in the midst of holding final interviews.
This week, they plan to narrow that down to just two candidates, negotiate contracts with them, and make the final choice next week.
"There were 44 I think if I recall correctly total applicants from 10 different states and we're very happy with the response and it resulted in three excellent finalists so its been great," Paul Carpenter, the president of the district's Board of Education said.
