MACHESNEY PARK, Ill. (WREX) — Around 100 parents and faculty came out to Harlem High School Monday night to share their opinions surrounding the district's plan to consolidate.

Parents were invited out for the first of three public input sessions where they were encouraged to share their thoughts on the plan ahead of a vote from the district.

At the meeting, parents spoke about their concerns surrounding the early childhood program, their children being forced to switch schools every two years under the new plan, and transportation.

The district shared information about the consolidation and said every bit of information matters now as they weigh the difficult decision.
