A man is facing murder charges after the fatal stabbing of a teenager in central Edmonton.
Police on Tuesday announced second-degree murder and attempted murder charges against Jacob Soosay-Gauthier, who was arrested Monday after 19-year-old William Pratt was stabbed to death in Parkdale early that morning.
The 21-year-old is accused of killing Pratt and wounding another 18-year-old victim at an apartment near 117 Avenue and 80 Street. Police say the victim and the accused knew each other and that no one else is being sought in the killing.
Pratt’s death was formally ruled a homicide after an autopsy Tuesday.
