Edmonton Sun reported on Dec. 4 about city council establishing a traffic enforcement unit with a funding model of $5.8 million based on fine revenue. In other words, speed traps. So no matter how conservatively Edmontonians drive, this new department has an in-built ticket quota required to pay its own way. This is bunk, que the moral outrage from councillors and residents alike, except — crickets.
