TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Middle school students in Leon County Schools will no longer have to lug their Chromebooks home due to a new policy.
After consulting with LCS middle school principals, it was decided that students will leave their Chromebooks at school instead of bringing them back and forth from their homes, according to school officials.
LCS says the plan is to fully implement the change by spring break.
“Each school will communicate directly with their parents to their specific timeline,” LCS said.
Fairview Middle School sent an email to parents and guardians regarding the policy on Monday.
“This change will help reduce delays in students not having necessary materials, decrease screen fatigue, promote handwriting fluency, and encourages independent thinking,” the email
