A North Carolina high schooler was stabbed to death in a fight with another student on Tuesday morning, according to local police.
A school resource officer at North Forsyth High School in Winston-Salem reported the altercation around 11:05 a.m., Forsyth County Sheriff Bobby Kimbrough Jr. said at a press conference in the afternoon. The school was placed on lockdown before deputies arrived to find one of the students dead.
Another person was wounded but it was unclear if they were the suspect.
Sheriff’s office spokesperson Krista Karcher said later that the wounded student was treated at a hospital and released. No information about their injuries was disclosed.
