MAINE (WABI) - You will not be able to visit a national park for free on Martin Luther King Junior Day next year, but you can on President Trump’s birthday.

According to the National Park Service website, the King holiday as well as Juneteenth are no longer listed as free admission days.

Several days were added -- including September 17th, which is Constitution Day, and June 14th, which is Flag Day and President Trump’s birthday.

Senator Angus King is critical of the change as well as the administration’s efforts to remove signs from national park and historic sites that could cast a negative light on American history.

He calls it a quote “whitewash” of the nation’s history.
