Rhonda Lewis is the newest member of the Metropolitan King County Council, after the rest of the County Council chose her from among three candidates Tuesday to fill the vacancy created by Girmay Zahilay’s election as King County executive.
Lewis, 70, of Seattle, was most recently chief of staff for Zahilay’s County Council office. She was previously chief of operations, overseeing nine departments and 12,000 employees, for then-County Executive Dow Constantine. She has also served as equity and social justice director for Public Health – Seattle & King County and as city administrator of Tukwila.
