Shops across the country have been making changes to their opening hours as Christmas approaches. Many have been open longer hours ahead of Christmas Eve, when most will then shut earlier than usual ready for the festive break.
However there are differences in the shopping times for stores with some chains closing their doors for an extended period. But B&M has said it will buck the trend regardless of what others, including Home Bargains and Aldi, are planning.
Under shopping rules all stores over a certain size - 280 square metres - must close on Christmas Day. They are also forced to close completely on Easter Sunday and can only open for six consecutive hours between 10am and 6pm on all other Sundays.
