TOLEDO, Ohio — Police arrested a man on Monday for punching a student at a high school basketball game last January, according to court documents.

Charles Foulkes, 46, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to one charge each of assault and safe school assault for the incident, which happened on Jan. 13, 2024, at a Maumee Valley Country Day School home game. He posted bond the same day and was ordered to have no contact with the victim, who attended MCVD at the time.

According to court documents, Foulkes was seen on video throwing a punch that connected with the victim.
