MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Twins will have their highest pick in the MLB Draft in nearly a decade after a disastrous 2025 campaign that included a fire sale at the trade deadline and resulted in the firing of manager Rocco Baldelli .
The Twins, fresh off their first 90+ loss season since 2016, received the No. 3 overall pick in Tuesday's MLB Draft lottery, despite having the second-best odds of capturing the top pick. Instead, the division-rival Chicago White Sox won the lottery and will have the No. 1 overall pick. The draft will take place July 11-12 in Philadelphia. It will still be the Twins' highest pick since they selected Royce Lewis No. 1 overall in 2017.
