MINNEAPOLIS — A Minneapolis woman said she spent four hours shackled in a jail cell Tuesday after being detained by ICE agents.
Sue Tincher said she heard ICE was conducting an operation in her neighborhood around 6:30 in the morning. She said she was an observer and wanted to find out what was going on. When she asked what the agents were doing, she said she was told to stand back. She didn't, and was detained.
Last week, the Department of Homeland Security began what they called "Operation Metro Surge." Twelve people were taken into custody during the operation, DHS said. There have been continued reports since then of ICE in the Twin Cities, including in Burnsville, where family members told KARE 11 ICE detained four people over the weekend.
