BUFFALO, N.Y. — In the days since Mayor-elect Ryan announced four new deputy mayors for his administration, a pay raise for the incoming police commissioner, and news that regional foundations supporting a transition fund to offset those costs, there was a lot to ask council members during Tuesday's regular meeting.
As for reaction to some of the announcements made by the mayor-elect, there is a healthy dose of optimism, and a 'wait and see' approach with some of the lawmakers 2 On Your Side spoke to.
"A new administration gives new ideas, new opportunities," Council Majority Leader Leah Halton-Pope said. "We will have to flesh out some of those things and talk about them amongst ourselves, those issues that we can address. But some of them, I think they're pretty good."
