Suspended Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Humayun Kabir has declared himself "Bengal’s Owaisi," drawing comparisons with AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, and announced plans to launch his own political party on December 22.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Humayun boasted of his influence ahead of the 2026 West Bengal assembly elections, claiming that no party will be able to secure a majority without his support.
"I have spoken to Owaisi. He told me he is Hyderabad’s Owaisi and I am Bengal’s Owaisi," Humayun said while mentioning his close ties with the AIMIM leader.
He asserted that in the upcoming elections, neither TMC nor BJP will be able to cross the majority mark independently and positioned himself as a "kingmaker." Humayun Kabir cutting the ribbon with clerics for the mosque's fou
