IADWS was successfully tested on August 23 off the coast of Odisha.

India is now set to deploy its own multi-layered air defence system to protect the capital, Delhi-NCR, from threats like missiles, drones, and fighter jet attacks. The Ministry of Defence is fast-tracking this project.

According to senior defence officials, the new Integrated Air Defence Weapon System (IADWS) will be entirely made with indigenous weapons. The main components of this system will be DRDO’s QRSAM missiles and VSHORADS.

These will be combined with various sensors, radars, and a modern control system, enabling immediate monitoring of every threat. The entire system will be operated by the Indian Air Force. IADWS was successfully tested on 23 August.
