MORRISTOWN, Tenn. — The City of Morristown announced the project on Nov. 22, a week before the work started. The post shared that the roundabout will make the intersection of Cherokee, Walters and Katerina Drives safer.

City Mayor Gary Chesney said the intersection has needed a change for years.

"Citations written for running stop signs and speeding and crashes," he said. "So, we knew something needed to be done there."

The City's website page on the roundabout shares statistics from the Morristown Police Department. They report 12 crashes in two years and 246 citations during that time.

Chesney said city leaders looked into other alternatives but determined a roundabout would be the most effective and cost-efficient.
