The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts has created a winter wonderland in its front yard. The free Front Yard Holiday Festival in Downtown Orlando officially opened on Dec. 4, with WESH 2's Christina Watkins helping Santa officially flip the switch on the festivities.

Snowfall, twinkling lights, fire pits, and Santa make a nightly appearance, offering a magical experience for families.

The family-friendly event includes live concerts, Santa's Story Nook, the Tree of Light, nightly tree lightings, Sunday movie nights, the Joyland Game Law and more.

Guests can enjoy holiday-theme snacks, meals, treats and drinks available for purchase.

This completely free event for families adds to the array of events in downtown Orlando. The festival runs daily through Jan. 4.
