The resale of tickets to gigs and live events above face value is set to be BANNED under new rules. Reselling tickets for profit is to be outlawed under plans previously announced last month under the Labour Party government.

Reselling a ticket at anything more than the price at which it was originally bought will be banned. The decision comes a week after artists including Radiohead, Dua Lipa and Coldplay issued an open plea to Keir Starmer.

They called on the government to make good on Labour’s general election manifesto pledge by stopping “pernicious” touts. Touts are understood to have cost music fans £145 million in hiked prices.
