A customer at a Wetherspoons pub resorted to hitting the shift manager with his lunch when his friend was asked to leave, a court was told.
On Friday, December 5, Ricky Baker was sentenced for assaulting a woman who worked for the Wetherspoons pub, the Grover & Allen, in Sudbury.
At a hearing previously held in October, which 68-year-old Baker did not attend, it was heard that on March 23 earlier this year, the pub’s shift manager for the day received a radio call asking for assistance with a young female who banned from the premises.
The woman left, Suffolk Magistrates’ Court was told. However, minutes later the shift manager was taking Baker’s order of steak, egg, chips and a pint of Stella to his table when she spotted the woman sitting beside him.
