The application for a gigafactory to be built on the site of Coventry Airport has been granted by Warwick District Council. The motion was carried in line with a senior planning officers recommendations during a planning meeting on Monday (9 December).
It comes less than a week after it was confirmed the historic site, which has been used as an aerodrome for almost 90 years, would cease operations from next year.
There have been plans in the pipeline for a gigafactory at the site for numerous years - but it would seem the plans are finally starting to take to necessary steps for work to begin.
The application includes the demolition of existing structures and the formation of a main spine road with car parking, access and associated works. Outline permission was approved in March
