Lorna Marlene Kaiuwailani Akima, 83, of Waimea died Nov. 3 at home. Born in Wailuku, Maui, she was a retired administrative officer for Pu‘ukohola Heiau National Historic Site, life member of the Waimea Hawaiian Civic Club; member of ‘Ahahui Ka’ahumanu Chapter II in Waimea and Tennessee Hawaiian Civic Club, and 1959 graduate of St. Anthony High School. Visitation 8:30-10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at Anunciation Catholic Church in Waimea. Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Casual or aloha attire. Survived by husband, William Akima of Waimea; children, Willette “Kala” (Eddie) Akima-Akau of Kawaihae and William (Ululani) Akima of Waimea; hanai daughter, Jolynn Dean of Kamuela; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
