U.S. Rep. Shri Thanedar, D-Detroit, said on Tuesday, Dec. 9, that he has introduced two articles of impeachment against Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in an effort to try and remove him that, in the current political circumstance, is likely quixotic.
Hegseth has been the focus of recent scrutiny over orders from the Trump administration to strike what it has insisted are boats in international waters carrying narcotics bound for the U.S. Those strikes have killed dozens of people since September. President Donald Trump has defended Hegseth and the strikes but Democratic members of Congress have argued that the attacks haven't been sufficiently justified and no authorization to carry them out has been granted.
