A woman has died at an Asda supermarket in Edinburgh . ‌

Emergency services raced to the premises on New Market Road after receiving reports of a woman taking unwell at 7.05am on Wednesday. ‌

Crews attended but sadly the woman, 64, was pronounced dead at the scene . ‌

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. Article continues below

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.05 am on Wednesday, 10 December, we received a report of a woman unwell in the New Market Road area of Edinburgh.

“Emergency services attended and the 64-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. There are no suspicious circumstances.”
