When politicians and corporate leaders declare they are “ending radical and wasteful DEI programs” to “restore merit-based opportunity,” they are operating on a fundamental misunderstanding. They claim Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is a system that rewards identity over ability. They are wrong. If you believe in hard work, fairness, and making sure talent rises to the top, then you already believe in DEI — even if you don’t realize it yet.

I was born and raised in Cleveland, and I carry that with pride everywhere I go. In our community, success is something we recognize and celebrate.
