AVON, Ohio – The Lorain County FC has a nickname: The Leviathan. They have a logo, crest, coach, merchandise and a stadium.
Now all they need is players.
The team, which will compete in the USL2, unveiled the name at a media event Tuesday night in Avon, where play will begin in 2026 at ForeFront Field.
A consortium is involved in operating the club, including Mario Gigante, Nick Turchan of Team8 Sports , Andrew McDonnell, Adam Stalnaker, CEO of Rockport Wealth Advisors; and Michael Hitchcock, as well as the Lake Erie Crushers ownership team.
The group sees Lorain County as a natural fit and is making a concerted effort to involve the community.
“I think what we saw, especially spearheaded by Andrew, is that there’s an opportunity here in Lorain,” said Stalnaker, who grew up playing
