MINOT — “I am racist and I’ll say that to the whole entire world,” a woman working at a Cinnabon in Wisconsin screamed at a Somali couple during a dispute over caramel.

Yes, caramel.

Apparently the couple had asked for more on their order, and the worker, one Crystal Wilsey, responded with anger and racial slurs. Which in and of itself doesn’t make this interaction notable. Awful, sure, but awful behavior isn’t uncommon, or even particularly newsworthy. The internet magnifies these sort of incidents because there’s an audience of rubberneckers happy to click and watch who can be monetized.
