Another megaship is coming to Florida. MSC Cruises will bring its World Class to Port Canaveral with the launch of MSC World Atlantic in late 2027.
The 6,758-guest vessel will combine popular elements of its predecessors – like MSC World America, which launched in 2025 – with new additions, according to Lynn Torrent, president of MSC Cruises North America. “So, some things will be very similar in terms of the positioning of our European style and American comfort,” she told USA TODAY. “It's working so well here in the U.S., and then within the spaces and the experiences, there'll be some new things.”
MSC World Atlantic opened for bookings on Dec. 10, announced via video message from MSC World America's godmother, Drew Barrymore. Here’s what travelers should know.
What’s new on MSC World Atlantic?
Viva La Musica will make its debut as one of more than 30 restaurants and bars onboard. “The theme here will be a vibrant new venue that celebrates Latin culture with live music, and there'll be dancing and high-energy nightlife, and that will take the place of MSC World America's (Fizz) Champagne Bar, which is in the heart of the (World) Galleria,” Torrent said.
There will be a cocktail bar, a stage and “plenty of comfortable nooks” to sit and enjoy the music.
The ship also will include the retro-themed Clubhouse, which makes its debut in the United States after it launches on MSC World Asia in 2026 – “think a top-down makeover of MSC World America’s Box Bar and Sportplex,” Torrent said.
“So, it will feature LEGO Family Zone, bumper cars, basketball, roller skating, classic table games and a lot more,” she added. Like World America before it, World Atlantic will have seven distinct districts, and the former felt like a firmly family-friendly ship when I sailed on it in April. Kids could play in part of the vessel while parents relax by the pool – or they could all meet to have fun together.
Additional details on the new spaces are still to come, but World Atlantic will feature many familiar spaces and attractions. Those include:
- The Butcher’s Cut steakhouse
- Kaito Sushi and Teppanyaki
- Hola! Tacos & Cantina
- The luxe MSC Yacht Club
- The line’s ship-within-a-ship concept
- The Harbour outdoor activity park
The Harbour will house Cliffhanger, a ride that allows guests to swing off the side of the ship (I tried it on World America and the views were well worth the knot in my stomach).
Where will MSC World Atlantic sail?
The ship will sail seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries beginning Nov. 13, 2027. Ports will include Grand Turk in Turks and Caicos; Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; and Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the line’s private island in the Bahamas.
Torrent said the cruise line wanted to put its “best foot forward” in Port Canaveral.
“It's such a big, important market, not only for us at MSC but for the industry,” she said. “It's such a fast-growing market. And you know, it's such a drive market (accessible by car). So we attract guests and we interact with travel agents from that whole area.”

How much does MSC World Atlantic cost?
Cruises on the ship start at $762 per person based on double occupancy, including taxes. MSC’s fares include accommodations, many onboard meals, entertainment and more.
