WYOMING COUNTY, N.Y. — A fire at a well-known animal feed supplier in North Java, in Wyoming County, prompted as many as fifteen fire companies to respond early Wednesday morning.
A warehouse at Reisdorf Bros. Inc. on Perry Road had gone up in flames around 3:30 a.m., according to First Assistant Chief for the North Java Fire Company Kyle Meyer.
He said the building held minerals, animal feed, and other farm necessities, including 10 vehicles.
"In the winter, they store their trucks in there to keep them out of the weather so the guys don’t have to work so hard in the morning to get them going, and that was my biggest concern was the trucks inside and the added fuel load, fire load," Meyer said.
The fire was "well involved" when crews arrived, with flames shooting through the roof. Mey
