(Bismarck, ND) — The National Weather Service is warning people who live along the Missouri River about rises caused by the formation of ice on the river. Residents in Bismarck and Mandan might notice ice forming on the river in the coming days. According to the NWS, the river will rise quickly once the ice accumulates south of the Bismarck and Mandan areas. Residents are advised to be ready for rapidly rising water and have their personal property, like boat docks, above the expected water levels. The NWS said the river could rise to somewhere between nine and eleven feet.
