SALT LAKE CITY — An unvaccinated child in Utah County is the latest Utahn reported to have measles, bringing the total count to 10 cases in Utah County.

This child is under the age of 5, Utah County Health Department ‘s public information officer Aislynn Tolman-Hill said.

“We do know that their immediate family is vaccinated,” Tolman-Hill said. “But this individual was just not able to be vaccinated yet.”

The family had traveled out of state for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Utah County Health Department suspected the child was infected there.

“Our last case was announced on October 31st,” Tolman-Hill said. “I t’s likely that we will see additional cases with additional holidays coming up. “
