The Iowa Legislature's nonpartisan agency has finalized its proposed five-district plan for future Johnson County Supervisor elections.
The Legislative Services Agency has submitted its supervisor redistricting plan to the Johnson County Board of Supervisors as the county seeks to comply with Senate File 75 , a new law that mandates district elections for supervisors in Johnson, Story and Black Hawk counties, the homes of the state's three public universities.
Iowa's other 96 counties can choose to elect supervisors by district; at large, where all county residents vote for every supervisor seat; or at large, where supervisors are still required to live in different districts.
