Posing as a fake heiress can land you in the FBI’s crosshairs.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is searching for Mary Carole McDonnell, 73, who is on the lam after allegedly defrauding nearly $30 million from banks and other financial institutions while posing as an heiress in a scheme that lasted a year.
The FBI said in its most wanted bulletin that McDonnell posed as an heir to the McDonnell Aircraft family and claimed to have access to a secret US$80-million trust.
