LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - A Tuesday evening hit-and-run crash is under investigation as police continue to look for the person responsible.
It happened around 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 9, the Lawrence Police Department reported.
Police said a Volkswagen Jetta driving north on Missouri Street ran a stop sign and hit a van driving east on 9th Street. The impact sent the Jetta into a nearby home’s porch.
The driver got out and ran, LKPD said, while the passenger was left behind with serious injuries. The driver and passenger in the van were taken to the hospital with injuries. Nobody in the home was present or injured.
LKPD said they conducted an “extensive” search of the area but could not find the driver.
More updates will be provided as they become available.
