COLUMBUS, Ohio. (WSAZ) - Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed an executive order Wednesday, awarding funds to help families in need, support children, and encourage workforce development.
The governor’s office said up to $500,000 in each of the next two fiscal years will be used to assist the Ohio Alliance of Boys and Girls Clubs.
The funding will provide workforce development services to eligible youth in Athens and Scioto Counties.
Governor DeWine also announced that up to $100,000 in each of the next two fiscal years will be used to assist the Ohio Council of Churches.
The funding will provide family support services, workforce development, temporary housing assistance, and food assistance to eligible families in Athens County.
