South Carolina's measles outbreak has passed 100 cases. The state's Department of Public Health reported 27 new cases on Tuesday, bringing the total to 111.
The numbers break down like this: 75 cases are children ages 5-17. Twenty are under age 5. Ten are adults. The remaining six are minors whose exact age wasn't disclosed.
Most of the new cases came from a previously reported exposure at the Way of Truth Church in Inman. Eight more are household contacts of known cases. There are currently 254 people in quarantine and 16 in isolation. The measles outbreak occurred as part of a larger outbreak in Spartanburg County driven primarily by low vaccination rates and high religious exemptions in the region. 00:00/00:34 10
