DULUTH — Duluth Marshall sophomore Chloe Johnson admitted her Hilltoppers squad had been outworked in the first half of their Lake Superior Conference matchup against Rock Ridge on Tuesday night.

The second half was a different story entirely.

The sophomore phenom set the tone with back-to-back go-ahead baskets out of the break, while a red-hot shooting display from Cairin Berger featuring a pair of 3's and 16 points in the final 18 minutes helped seal an 80-72 win over the Wolverines.

“Even if we’re not making shots, we can control our effort,” said Johnson, who finished with a game-high 25 points. “So I think that’s what we really focused on, and Cairin (Berger) stepped up and hit a bunch of 3’s.
