A pair from New York celebrating a birthday in the Poconos was killed in a crash Tuesday night, according to a news release.

Deante Jordan, 26, of Cambria Heights, New York, and Janelle Aragon, of Elmhurst, New York, were killed in the crash according to the release from Monroe County Coroner Tom Yanac.

They were celebrating Jordan’s birthday and staying at a local resort when the crash occurred just before 11 p.m. Tuesday on Frantz Hill Road in Pocono Township, the release says.

Jordan was pronounced dead at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday. Aragon was pronounced dead at 11:37 p.m. Autopsies will be conducted on Thursday.

“No more information is available at this time as this accident is still under investigation,” Yanac said.
